Let’s Make Net Zero Buildings the New Norm

Let’s Explore

Early adopters of lean construction are able to deliver building projects at 20% less cost and six months early. Net Zero building industry Explorers are using lean and more integrated practices to delivery Net Zero buildings at very little if any additional cost as demonstrated on a number of cool projects.

In this presentation on December 4th in Winnipeg we explore ways to create a viable Net Zero Building Industry. We will also discuss the strategies that enabled the Mosaic Center, Okanagan College and EcoSmart Developments to deliver successful economically viable Net Zero projects.

A New Way of Thinking

LEAN pays for GREEN is a new way of thinking on how to deliver high performance GREEN buildings at no additional cost using LEAN Project Delivery.

The math is simple; Lean Project Delivery can deliver capital cost saving of 20% to 40% which is considerably more that the 10% premium needed to deliver a NetZero building.

The goal of this Lean pays for Green initiative is to raise awareness about the opportunity to create a truly lean and green building industry with a NetZero energy target for all new building by the year 2020. The potential impact is huge as the building industry currently wastes at least $120 Billion per year in North America alone [1] and is the source for 35% of all green house gas emissions. The building industry needs to be held accountable for the eminent catastrophic climate change disaster that will occur if we don’t significantly ramp up efforts to solve this problem.

The take away is that LEAN pays for GREEN! We know how to deliver NetZero energy buildings at no additional cost and its time to find many more Explorers wanting to Get Green Done!

Thank You
