Program Description: (Available Early 2017)

LCI-Canada will be rolling out a Lean Project Delivery (LPD) certification program that  will include workshops, exams and for Level 2 & 3 certification there will be a requirement for  project related applied experience.

 

The program will recognize the accomplishments of lean practitioners based upon the following three levels of certification.

 

Level 1 Lean Project Delivery Fundamentals:

 

Certification requires that applicants have a good understanding  of the business case for LPD, lean principles and practices and have introductory level knowledge about the Lean Project Delivery that have been developed by the Lean Construction Institute. 

 

Training: The Level 1 Lean Project Fundamentals Workshop or equivalent training will provide participants with the background needed to meet the requirements and take the online exam. 

 

Certification: The certification exam will be online. Upon successful passing of the exam, having completed the required training you will be able to apply to Lean Construction Institute–Canada for certification.

Level 2 Lean Project Coordinator:  

 

As a Lean Project Coordinator you will be expected to know Lean Project Delivery System, understand the methods and tools and have experience coordinating work using lean practices.   Applicants will require formal training on Last Planner System , Target Value Design and lean methods and tools.

 

Training and Experience: Fifty hours of Lean Project Training with a completed lean project or equivalent work experience.

Certification will require passing an exam, a written application outlining competencies, experience with references.

 

Level 3 Lean Project Facilitator: 

 

At the facilitator level you would be expected to be able to take a leadership role in delivering a lean project or specialize in an area of lean practice .  With successful implementation of advanced lean methods and tools you will have demonstrated success on a minimum of three projects. 

 

Lean Project Facilitators will also require soft skills training on leadership, team building and and establishing highly collaborative work environments.

 

Training and Experience: Applicant will require 100 hours of training  with experience on a minimum of three projects where the proponent has taken a lead role in implementing lean systems on projects.

Certification will require an exam, experience with a written application outlining lean competencies that are supported by references.
